What's In My Airplane Carry On

On Saturday, my family and I are leaving for Rhode Island and I am so excited!  It really is my happy place.  We've been going there since I was 3 months old to visit my cousins, have some much needed family time, and a whole lot of fun!  So since I'm beginning to make a packing list and get somethings together, I thought I would share with you guys what I pack in my carry on.  I am always so curious to see what others are bringing with them on the plane, so I thought I would throw my hat into the ring!  So, without further ado, here is what I will be bringing with me on the plane!

North Face Backpack // I bought this backpack the summer before my senior year of high school and have been using it ever since!  I originally bought it when I went on a school trip to Europe that summer, and it has held up so well and I am still obsessed with it!  Since I got it so long ago they don't sell it anymore, but they have a ton of great backpacks and I highly recommend their brand!

iPad and Charger // At this point, my whole life is on my iPad and it's kind of sad!  I have the 11in iPad Pro and the new Apple Pencil and I am completely obsessed!  It has my planner and so many different notebooks on it via the Good Notes app.  I also watch YouTube on it, read books via the Kindle app, browse social media, create blog graphics with Procreate, online shop on it, and so much more.  I don't have the cellular plan with my iPad, because most of the time I use it it's connected to wifi.  For the plane, I am planning on downloading the entire new season of Queer Eye (since it comes out the day before we leave!) to watch on the plane as well as having a few podcast episodes downloaded on Spotify to listen to.

iPhone Charger // Self explanatory!  We have a layover between flights so it will be perfect to plug in my phone and catch up on social media while getting ready for flight number 2!

AirPods // I am obsessed with my AirPods!  I frequently switch them between my phone, iPad, and laptop depending on what I'm watching or listening to.  I will definitely be using them to watch Queer Eye on my iPad, watch YouTube between flights, or to relax and listen to a podcast on a flight.

Book(s) // I usually read on my Kindle app since it is more convenient, but I did purchase two physical books to read since we are staying at a beach house and it's just a little more fun on vacation!  I am already 80 pages through the first book I bought (...whoops) so I'm bringing two this trip since we will be there for nine days!  The one I have already started is The Perfect Couple by Elin Hilderbrand.  I thought this would be perfect for my New England trip since it takes place on Nantucket and during the summer, and I've heard great things about this book.  I also am bringing The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F@ck by Mark Manson.  I am trying alternate between fiction and non fiction books so that I don't get in a rut with reading, but I have heard great things about this book and Manson was even on one of my favorite podcasts, Girls Gotta Eat, which made me want to read his book even more!

Laneige Lip Mask // I talked about how much I love this product in a monthly favorites post, and it will definitely be a staple in my carry on bag!  I get so dehydrated and dry on planes, and this is the perfect product to bring along to moisturize and hydrate my lips!

Wallet // Another self explanatory item!  In case I want to buy something at the airport and for when I need to present my ID at TSA, a wallet is an essential!  I recently bought a small card holder that I attached to my keys and I will definitely be throwing that into my back pack for easy access at the airport.

Planner // Even though this is vacation and we will be relaxing, I absolutely can not live without my planner!  I use the undated Happiness Planner that my mom got me for Christmas and I am so obsessed with it!  I love that it's undated because even if I skip a week or two (which has definitely happened...) it still stays on track and no pages need to be skipped!

Essential Oils Roller // I have a tendency to get anxious when traveling, so I love to have my roller filled with lavender calming essential oils in case I need it.  My roller is also under 3oz, so it is perfect to bring onto the plane with me.  I unfortunately cannot link mine since I got it from a farmers market here in St. Louis, but if you can find one I definitely recommend it!
