Summer Makeup Routine
I feel like my skin gets a break and really thrives in the summer. It's not super dried out like it always gets during winter, and I am wearing less makeup during the summer which I love. I already have a pretty quick makeup routine that takes me around 15 minutes, but I've definitely downsized on the amount of products I've been putting on when it's warmer. I can really tell a difference because everything feels so much lighter on my face, which means my skin can breathe so much better, I'm not sweating all of my makeup off, and my skin doesn't break out as much or as often as it does when I do my normal routine. SO, without further ado, here is what I've been using as far as makeup goes so far this summer!
FOUNDATION // Tarte Amazonian Clay Tinted Press Finishing Powder OR IT Cosmetics CC Cream
What I use for foundation really depends on how my skin is doing. If I need more coverage that day, I use the IT Cosmetics CC Cream because it is super lightweight while still giving a foundation-like coverage. Plus, it has SPF 50 in it which is perfect for the summer sun. If my skin is doing pretty good or I've been in the pool all day with SPF, I just put on the Tarte Amazonian Clay powder foundation. I usually use this powder over my liquid foundation and concealer, but in the summer I don't usually use liquid foundation or concealer just because it feels so heavy on my face.
BRONZER // Physician's Formula Butter Bronzer
If you guys try one product from this post, try the Butter Bronzer. OMG it smells so good and has such a great color and gives you such a natural color. I usually add more coverage with it in the summer since I don't use a lot of foundation in the summer and my body is tanner so I obviously want my face to match the rest of my body. I recommend this product so much, and it's under $10, so such a great deal!
BLUSH // Nars Blush in Orgasm
This was the birthday gift from Ulta for the month of May last year, and I instantly fell in love with this product. For so long I have tried so many different brands and shades of blush trying to find one that actually works with my skin tone. And this one has seriously been a winner for me! Lol it took a free mini size to get me to finally find a blush I like! It's a really pretty pinky shade with a little shimmer in it as well so you could totally get away with not using highlighter if you didn't want to. Will definitely be using this product in the future!
EYE SHADOW // ELF Rose Gold Eye Shadow Palette
I bought this palette in January because it was cheap and I thought I would use all of the colors. And I was definitely right!!! I usually go for pinks or browns/neutrals with eye shadow and this palette is full of them! For summer I usually just do one of the lighter colors on my lid, and a darker color in part of my crease and on the outer part of my lid for a super simple eye look.
MASCARA // Urban Decay Perversion
My room mate actually got me this mascara for Christmas this past year and I loved it! It doesn't take many coats to make it look bold and pronounced, and I also don't feel like it gets super gooey and clumpy. Definitely love this mascara for a light coat but nice bold lashes.
EYEBROWS // ELF Instant Lift Brow Pencil
Yet another ELF product that I'm obsessed with! This is literally only $2, but matches my eyebrow color perfectly, and fills them in great. Highly recommend for a cheap but still great product!
HIGHLIGHTER // Physicians Formula Butter Highlighter in Champagne
When buying a new Butter Bronzer one day, I noticed how beautiful the Butter Highlighters were, so I decided to grab one to try. And I love it! I have it in the shade "Champagne" since it's a very natural gold color and doesn't add more colors to my already done up face. The glow is so subtle and really adds a great finishing touch to any look.
LIP // NYX Butter Gloss in Fortune Cookie
To finish off the whole look, I use this really pretty nude! These glosses seriously go on like butter. They are so smooth, glossy, and they last for a long time. I'm obsessed and have multiple shades of butter gloss.
FINISHING SPRAY // Morphe Continuous Setting Mist
I'm almost out of this product and I'm seriously so sad about it. Since it's a continuous spray and a mist, my face doesn't feel so wet and gross after spraying some on, and I feel like my whole face gets covered instead of just parts of my face like with a normal spray. Definitely going to be needing to pick up some more of this very soon!
Hope this was helpful for anyone looking for summer make up suggestions! Let me know what products you guys use in the summer down below!
xoxo, Hannah
