2018 Goals

I have read so many blog posts and watched so many YouTube videos on New Year's resolutions, and I swore that I wouldn't do a post on it.  It seemed so over done, and they were all generally the same.  However, I have been thinking of some things that I want to accomplish in 2018 both mentally and physically, and I ultimately decided to write this post to keep myself accountable and to actually keep up with what I want to accomplish.

So, without further ado, here are my 2018 goals:

ONE // Fitnesss

Yes, I know so typical.  But I'm not trying to lose a ton of weight, or get a perfect beach body, or go to the gym every day or something completely crazy that I know I won't accomplish.  At my school, I dance three times a week with my dance team which is a great workout, but I'd like to do a little more.  I want to get back into shape, and add a little more muscle definition.  So, my goal is to go to the gym at least once a week that is not for dance practice.  This doesn't seem to unreachable, and will help me get my foot in the door with fitness a little bit.  Who knows, I mend end up loving it and wanting to make more of a habit out of it!

TWO // Reading

I love to read, and I have since I was young.  Over the summer and holiday breaks, I read like crazy and go through around a book a week.  However, during the school year with my crazy schedule in college, reading goes way down on my priorities list.  I'm not going to say a specific number of books that I want to read or anything, I just want to be able to read during the semester and maybe at least finish a book.

THREE // Focus on Myself

At the beginning of 2017, I was in a relationship that was beginning to crumble around me.  I put everything I had into trying to fix it and making it work, while the other person wasn't doing too much to help it.  After breaking up right when we both got back to school, it was rough, I'm not going to lie.  However, it made me realize that I was focusing on what I could do for them instead of what was best for me.  At the end of 2017, I began to do just that.

I had a rough first two years of college, but now I have way more friends, more confidence, and am having way more fun.  For the first time ever in college, I'm missing my friends from school and actually am a little excited to go back.  The end of 2017 was only the beginning of focusing on myself, and I want to continue this mindset into 2018.

FOUR // Internships

As a junior in college, I have been applying like crazy for summer internships.  This seems like a pretty obvious goal to nail one down, but I want to remind myself to keep my mind open to every possibility.  I don't want to only apply for the "perfect" internships only to get turned down because I flew too high.  I want to remember to be humble and to accept anything that comes my way because I truly believe that everything happens for a reason.

I hope you all have some good resolutions and that you stick with them!

xoxo, Hannah
