Apple Watch Series 3 Review
Hi everyone!
Today I am going to be talking about my favorite gift that I got for Christmas: my Apple Watch! I got a Fitbit Charge 2 for my birthday in May, and even though I loved it, I was starting to want a watch that did more than what my Fitbit did. Since I had only had my Fitbit for around six months, I was going to wait until May to ask for an Apple Watch. However, much to my surprise, I was gifted the new Apple Watch without asking for it! And I could not be happier about it!
The Apple Watch is completely customizable which took some time to get used to since I didn't know what I wanted the faces to be, and it comes with a lot of different faces, including a whole face gallery on the app. I eventually went with the "Classic Mickey Mouse" as my main watch face, and the Activity Summary as the second. I had originally left the other default faces on, but quickly realized that I didn't need them so I didn't see a point to having them on.
It's so cute and his foot taps the seconds! Being the Disney fan that I am, I knew I had to have the Mickey watch face!
You can also set to receive all of the notifications that you get on your phone on your watch. I edited these a little bit because I didn't want to be on my watch every five seconds. First, I turned off Snapchat and Instagram notifications. I have been snapping my friends from college a lot this break since I am not with them every day anymore, so I didn't want to keep getting those notifications. I'm usually not far from my phone anyways, so it wasn't a big deal to me. I turned off Instagram because if I posted a picture, I didn't want to keep getting the notifications when someone liked my post.
I also love getting my texts on it. I could read my texts on my Fitbit, but it is so much easier to read them on the Apple Watch, and you can actually read the full text instead of part of a long text on the Fitbit. I also like having the voice text option. If I'm not near my phone and want to answer someone really quick or send a quick text, it is super easy to do! This is one of the features that I was most looking forward to on the watch. With the Fitbit, it always vibrated on my wrist when I got a text whether I was on my phone or laptop. With the Apple Watch, if I am already on my phone or on my laptop where I have iMessage enabled, my watch will not tell me that I have a text since I will have already seen it. This way, if my phone is locked and I am reading, or watching TV, or out with family or friends, I can read my text and decide if I need to answer it or not.
Another feature I was really looking forward to? Emails! I changed the email notification from "same as phone" to giving me a notification every time I get an email. This way, if it's a spam email, I can delete it right away from my watch instead of surfing through it on my phone or laptop. I can also see if I get an important email that I will need to right away get on my phone or laptop to read.
Although I knew what features the Apple Watch had, I wasn't entirely sure how to use it when I first got it. No one in my family has one, and my friends at school usually have Fitbits, so I wasn't really used to seeing one in action very often. However, it was very easy to figure out, and my dad was pretty surprised when, by the end of the night on Christmas Eve, I was already maneuvering it well and knew how to use it. You can basically make it your own, making it easy to know how to use!
One of my New Year's resolutions is to be more active. I know, everyone makes this resolution, but I'm not trying to make a big change in my routine, just minor ones. And honestly, the Apple Watch is something that helped make me want to be more active. Getting daily reminders makes me want to close all of the activity rings, and the workout app is so easy and convenient to use. I actually look forward to my little workouts that I have been doing, because the watch has been making me feel so accomplished!
Overall, I am absolutely in love with my Apple Watch and highly, highly recommend it. It is so nice to have so you don't have to be on your phone as much, and can actually enjoy who you're with. I absolutely love it and know that the Apple Watch will be something that will be on my wrist for a long time!
Thanks for reading!
