Christmas Cookie Baking
Hi everyone!
As the holidays are drawing nearer (just 2 more days!), it is officially time for my family to make some Christmas cookies! We are hosting Christmas Eve at my house this year, so there is definitely a lot to be done. Every year, it usually ends up just being my mom and I actually baking the cookies while my dad and brother end up being the taste testers!
We made 4 different types of cookies, and first up were sugar cookies! Since we had a lot to do today, we decided not to use cut outs for these, but instead we made normal, circular cookies, and then decorated them.
As you can see, we're not super artistic or creative, but we definitely had fun! The ones with the letters on them are the first initials of the members of our family who will be with us on Christmas Eve.
Next came my personal cookie request, the peanut butter blossoms. These are super easy to make, and are just peanut butter cookies rolled in sugar, with a Hershey's kiss on top. The kisses are added at the end right when the cookies come out of the oven and are soft, so that they will stick the best. Since I was decorating while my mom was baking, I had the honor of sticking the Hershey kisses in.
Here is the final product:
Next was my mom's request: snickerdoodles! For the sugar cookies and peanut butter cookies, we used Betty Crocker pre-made cookie dough. But for the next two batches, we made them from scratch. Honestly, nothing is better than cookies made from scratch, and after trying the snickerdoodles, I think that they may even beat out the peanut butter blossoms for my favorite cookie that we made this year!
Lastly, was the chocolate chip cookies. These are my dad's favorite and his personal request, mainly because he loves to eat the dough. I have to agree though, chocolate chip cookie dough is better than any other cookie dough.
I mean, just look at how delicious that looks! The baked cookies turned out delicious as well.
Even though we only made 4 types of cookies, we ended up with so many, and will definitely have a lot left over after my family comes over for Christmas Eve. Even my dog got in on the Christmas cookie fun by laying in the kitchen with us.
I hope you enjoyed this post! There will be some more Christmas posts before the season is over, so stick around for those!
xoxo, Hannah

While my mom started the next batch, peanut butter blossoms, my dad and I started to decorate the sugar cookies. We used red, green, and white Betty Crocker icing, and a plethora of different types of Betty Crocker sprinkles.
My dad even wanted to get in on the fun and helped me bake while my mom was mixing some dough for the next ones.
