Wheelhouse Downtown Brunch!

Over Valentine's Day weekend, my brother came back home to St. Louis for the weekend, which usually means a family brunch on Sunday!  We had been talking for so long about trying this boozy brunch out, and we certainly were not disappointed!

We started our meal out with bottomless mimosas!  The waitress gives you a bracelet to know which members of the party ordered bottomless mimosas and bring out pitchers for refills instead of having to wait for every time the waitress comes out, which I loved!  We started with a pitcher of the classic mimosas with just champagne and orange juice, and another pitcher of the Wheelmosa, which is pineapple, Sprite, Aperol, and rosé.

The Wheelmosa ended up being a favorite at the table, although the original ones were good too!

We also started with an order of donut holes for the table.  You can get them with powdered sugar, chocolate sauce, or cinnamon and apple butter.  We got chocolate sauce, and WOW these ended up being way better than we originally thought they would be!  They were definitely better than you're average donut hole!

They have a great variety or classic and original brunch options here and we were all very excited to try them!  I ended up getting the "Bikini Bottom" which is poached eggs, wilted spinach, crab cakes, and hollandaise served with breakfast potatoes.

I normally am weary with getting seafood in the Midwest, but a crab cake sounded really good to me that morning.  I'm so glad I went with this instead of the classic eggs benedict, because this was amazing!  My mom and great-grandma ended up getting this as well and all three of us loved it!

My brother got the waffles and he was a little disappointed because he wished that they were thicker, like Belgian-style waffles, but he hate everything so he liked them overall!  My grandma got the OG Eggs Benedict which she loved, my dad got a burger with fries and veggies slaw.  He loved the burger, but was not a fan of the veggie slaw.  The man loves his cole slaw, so he can be very picky with it!  Lastly, my grandpa got the pork lover's omelette which looked like more pork than omelette, but he ate all of it and said it was great, too!

Overall, my whole family Wheelhouse Downtown!  I was a little nervous about bringing my grandparents here since it's more of a young crowd, if you know what I mean.  However, they loved it, even my 92-year-old great-grandma, and my grandparents kept telling me throughout the week after how much they enjoyed it and loved trying new places.  I think my brother would have enjoyed it more if he was 21, but he still has a few more months to wait lol.

We will definitely be back to Wheelhouse Downtown, and I would love to try it for dinner or something before a Blues or Cardinals game!  If you live in the STL area or are coming to visit, I highly recommend!

xoxo,
Hannah
