Miracle STL: The Christmas-Themed Pop Up Bar

We love the holidays.  And by we, I mean the women in my family!  My mom, grandma, and I would start decorating for Christmas on November 1st if we could.  Excessive?  Absolutely.  But the Christmas season is incredibly short, so we like to soak up as much of it as possible before it’s over.

About a month or so ago, my mom made reservations for a pop up Christmas bar in St. Louis.  There are a few around St. Louis, but the one we were going to is called Miracle STL.  We had a kind of off time for a reservation, 4:30 on a Tuesday.

All of the tables in the bar are reservation only, but the bar is first come first serve.  You can also only stay at the table for a certain amount of time, depending on how many people are a part of the reservation.  We had 3 people, so we could stay for an hour and fifteen minutes.  That way people aren’t hogging tables and everyone can get a chance to enjoy the bar!

There were two drink menus, one with drinks that are there all the time, and a paper one with changing drinks.  We each had two drinks and my mom and I had a shot.  These are the drinks we had that were on the standard menu:

Bad Santa: Rum, Batavia Arrack, Black Chai Tea, Date-Infused Oat Milk, Vanilla Syrup (served hot).  I got this drink, and it was so good.  I loved that it was served hot. It felt very festive and it made it taste even better than it already did.

Snowball Old-Fashioned: Caramelized Pecan Bourbon, Spiced Molasses Syrup, Wormwood Bitters, Orange Essence.  My mom got this one and she absolutely loved it!  She wanted this to be her second drink too, but went with something else so that she could try as much as possible.  Even after her other drink, she said this was still her favorite!

SanTaRex: Rye Whiskey, Oloroso Sherry, Spiced Apple Cider Concentrate, Lemon Juice, Hard Cider, Baked Apple Bitters.  This was my mom’s second drink.  She really liked this one too, but the old-fashioned still won out for her.  This drink was cute though because the glass it was served in was a T-Rex with a santa hat on!  I had a sip of this too and was surprised that I liked it since I’m not really a whiskey person.  But I do like cider and apple, and that flavoring was great!

Nice Shot: Rum, Peppermint Tea, Chocolate.  This is the shot I did.  I’ll be honest with you, I’m not that great at taking shots.  Because I had to take it in a few gulps instead of all at once, I tasted it more and it really cleared my sinuses!  I liked it though and would definitely have it again.

Naughty Shot: Bourbon, Cinnamon.  This is the one my mom did.  She really liked it as well and said that the taste was really good, which isn’t usually the case with shots.

We also got some snacks with our drinks.  They don’t have real food, just snacks, but it was perfect to munch on while having a few drinks.  We first had a paper bag filled with Chex Mix, and then had a dessert of gingerbread gooey butter cookies, a twist on a classic St. Louis tradition.  Both were perfect!

We had such a great time at Miracle STL!  We don’t have another reservation and all of the remaining time slots are filled, but my mom and I want to go after work and sit at the bar so we can enjoy this unique place again before it is gone for the season.

Xoxo, Hannah
