My Favorite Podcasts

Woah, long time no see!  School and being a senior has genuinely been taking over my life, and my last blog post was posted the day I moved back into school.  And now, I have two days of classes left, and genuinely missed this little outlet that I made myself, even if no one reads this.  But you know, that's not why I made a blog.  I made a blog because I like to write, and I get so much inspiration from the YouTubers that I watch and the blogs that I read.  So, I'm back, and pretty happy about it.

So for my first post back, I want to talk about podcasts.  I am a HUGE podcast girl and listen to them pretty much all day every day.  I listen to them when I'm laying in bed at night or on a slow morning, when I'm getting ready, when I'm driving, when I'm walking to class, and everything in between.  I've been getting bored of music because I listen to the same songs all the time.  But podcasts come out with new episodes weekly, or daily, so there is always something new to listen to.  So here are the podcasts that I am subscribed to, and why I like them.

ONE // THE RIZZUTO SHOW

Okay, so this is definitely a niche thing, but I'm gonna talk about this anyways.  I'm from St. Louis, and the Rizzuto Show is a morning radio show that runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.  After the show is over, the whole thing (minus the music and the adds) is put on the podcast app and Spotify.  Since I go to college out of state, I listen to them every single day, and I especially love listening to them when I'm driving.  They have the same segments every day (Crap on Celebrities, News, and Sports), along with certain topics for each day of the week.  They also have guests, games, and so much more.  It is 2 hours and 45 minutes of St. Louis talk, funny games, and everything that reminds me of home.  I've even met all of the guys and they are as great in person as they are on the air.  So if you ever feel like being immersed in some St. Louis culture for the week, give the guys on the Rizzuto Show a listen.

TWO // GALS ON THE GO

I have watched both Brooke and Danielle's YouTube videos for about a year now, and was so excited when they announced that they were coming out with a podcast at the beginning of the school year.  All of their topics are so relatable to me as a college student, especially with Brooke being a senior in college, and their stories make me laugh out loud.  It's their YouTube channels in your ears, and I love hearing all of their tips, product reviews, and takes on current events.  Definite must listen if you're a busy college student!  They even have a Facebook group that I became a member of, and is definitely one of the better decisions that I have made recently.

THREE // GIRLS GOTTA EAT

Another recent fave of mine, but so glad it was recommended to me!  This show is hosted by Rayna and Ashley, two single girls living in New York City and talking all about relationships.  Each week is completely different, making me look forward to a new episode every Monday, and the guests are so interesting.  They genuinely make me feel so relieved about not having a boyfriend or not having my life together because they don't either, and they make you laugh about it.  Especially great to have on in the background for some fun story times.

FOUR // DON'T BLAME ME

I started listening to Don't Blame Me over the summer because one of my friends is obsessed with it, and I'm so glad she told me about it.  This show is hosted by YouTuber Meghan Rienks, and the premise is that people call her hotline asking for advice.  Some of it is super intimate and deep, and some are just plain hilarious.  Meghan and her guest give them their best advice, all while premising it with "don't blame me" in case the advice does not go well.  It is so funny and relatable; I highly recommend.

FIVE // POTTERLESS

This one is for any Harry Potter fans, or wannabe Harry Potter fans.  This podcast is all about a grown man, Michael Schubert, reading the Harry Potter series for the first time.  He summarizes a grouping of chapters he has read with a guest on each episode, and talks through all of his thoughts, and makes predictions.  Some predictions are great and spot on.  Others, way off (like thinking that Ludo Bagman was behind everything in the Goblet of Fire).  This podcast uploads every other week so it's not super time consuming, but Schubes is almost done with Half-Blood Prince, and I listened to the whole thing in about a month if that tells you anything...it's hilarious and makes me feel like I am reading the books all over again!

Thanks for reading!  Hopefully I'll be back to posting more consistently!

xoxo, Hannah
