Quarantine Purchases
It's been (almost) two months of staying at home. At the beginning of all of this, I was seeing some positives such as saving money now that I won't be going out with friends or even getting gas since I wouldn't be driving to and from work. This is also my first time have an "adult" pay check, so having that much money in my bank account for the first time is very tempting as well. I've started a budgeting spreadsheet to see exactly where my expenses are going each month and to hopefully prevent me from over spending. This is somewhat working, but temptation is definitely still there for me! Most of my purchases have been from the holy grail, Amazon, and I have loved everything that has come in so far! I thought I would share what I've bought these past few months, both what has arrived and what hasn't yet in case you were looking for a little retail therapy, too!
Amazon Basics Yoga Mat // I bought this right at the beginning of the stay at home order so that I could do my workouts outside. I've already talked about how I'm not too big on working out at home, so I thought I would try and spice them up by moving them outside on nice days. I've been loving being outside in the spring weather while also getting a good sweat in. Very happy with this purchase!
Function of Beauty Shampoo and Conditioner // Luckily I got my hair done the week before the stay at home order happened, so my hair has held up pretty great. However, I have been struggling with my hair getting dry and being incredibly frizzy, and just wasn't happy at all with how it would look. I figured it was my hair getting used to the shampoo I had been using, and needed to switch it. I decided to try Function of Beauty. If you don't know what this is, it's a website where you get custom shampoo and conditioner made just for you. You fill out a quiz saying what your hair is like and what you want your hair products to do for you. You can also choose your scent and color of your products as well. They then customize your formula and send you the finished product. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews, but so far it's been working pretty well for my hair! I probably won't purchase it again just because it's pretty expensive for just okay hair product, but I'm glad I tried it out!
Refurbished Wii // This is without a doubt, the best purchase we have made in quarantine! I didn't buy this, my parents did, but we all use it and love it! We had a Wii but for some reason it stopped working, probably just because of age. We hooked this up to our big TV in our basement and have nightly Mario Kart and Wii Sports tournaments. I also bought some games for myself (which I'll share in a minute), so basically we use this every single day. Best purchase ever, and we will definitely be using this even after the stay at home order is over!
LEGO Harry Potter Years 1-4 & 5-7 // These are the games I was talking about that I bought myself for Wii! This was a very nostalgic purchase for me. I had these games for our old PlayStation 3 which we definitely don't have anymore. I saw on Amazon that they sold these games for Wii and I immediately bought both! These games are definitely very old and dated, but I've loved playing them again and am truly having a blast, so another great purchase!
Kendra Scott Elisa Pendant // Last summer, my grandma bout me this beautiful charm and chain, both solid gold, from Ireland. Back in January, the chain broke and I was devastated. Kendra Scott had a sale a few weeks ago, and she offered to buy me a nice necklace to make up for it, and I chose this one. It's 18k rose gold, which means that I can wear this all the time and I haven't taken it off since I got it. I absolutely love this and am being extra careful that I don't break this one!
Hane's Mens Sweatshirt in Black // I bought this sweatshirt so that I could bleach dye it! There's a whole post coming soon on the process, but it was a lot of fun and turned out so great!
The Morning Toast Tie Dye Long Sleeve // I can't link this because the merch drop is over, but I bought this as soon as it opened up! I've been listening to The Morning Toast for almost a year now, but always felt guilty spending money on the merch since I didn't have a pay check and wanted to spend the money that I did have on more necessary things. Well thankfully, the spring merch drop happened after one of my first pay checks and I used it as a little treat myself! I bought the tie dye long sleeve in a large so it would be oversized and comfy and I love it! It feels like it's mainly cotton so I probably won't dry it so it stays the same, but otherwise, I'm a big fan!
Silicone AirPods Case // I've been wanting one of these for awhile, and finally found one that I want! It got this in beige so it would be nice and neutral. It came looking a little more peach, but I honestly don't mind that because the color still looks great. I also love that it comes with a clip so I can attach them to my keys which is exactly what I was looking for! All 4 people in my family have AirPods and now that we are all working/doing school from home, this will help me know which pair is mine and where mine are at all times!
Laptop Stand // I've seen so many people with some form of this and have been thinking about it for a few months. I would talk myself into it, and then talk myself out of it right as I was about to make the purchase. I recently got an Amazon gift card and decided to go for it! This has been great while working from home. My laptop is a little higher now but still makes it easy to type without being uncomfortable. I like the extra space it gives my work space as well. There's only a few left in stock of this right now, so I say get it while you can!

Gals on the Go "DNT TXT" Crop Hoodie // Another merch drop for one of my favorite podcasts! I've been wanting a DNT TXT hoodie for awhile but, like with The Morning Toast, I couldn't justify spending that much money without a steady income. This merch drop happened a few weeks after I started working and I bought it immediately since their stuff tends to sell out fast. It's light pink, cropped, and so cute! It's light enough that I can still wear it in spring and summer when it gets chilly, and especially now that we're working from home, it's the perfect lounge wear.
Hydroflask Car Cup Holder // My Hydroflask is like my baby. I take it everywhere with me (which right now is just to different parts of my house). The most frustrating part, however, is that it doesn't fit in my cup holder. I have the 32oz one, and it's so frustrating when I bring it in the car with me. I either have to put it between my legs or let it roll around my passenger seat. I'm very excited for this to come in and for my driving game to (finally) be changed!
